Our first topic this summer is 'Curious about confectionary'. For our sparkling start we are visiting a traditional sweet shop in Lowestoft called Salvina's.
We have learnt to recite a passage from Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book . We have used actions to remember the words.
We are excited that we have a Family Café on Thursday 14th April when we will present this to our grown ups as well as creating a Diorama of the chocolate factory.
Look out for our photos soon!!
All Creatures Great and Small
To start off our new topic for this half term we were very lucky to have some special visitors in. A lady from Africa Alive came in to show us a Pancake Tortoise, a Royal Python and a Millipede. We had a great afternoon touching the animals and learning lots of facts about them.
Fabulous Finish 23/10/15
Today we ended our fairy tale topic with our Fabulous Finish. We spent the morning with some very exciting visitors who took us to Neverland! Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook retold us the tale of Peter Pan. We all had lots of fun and laughter, especially when Mr Field was dressed up as a fairy and a pirate! We now cannot wait to start our new topic next half term which is 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
Welcome to Sparrows new class web page!
We have already been doing lots of fun and exciting learning this half term on the topic of 'Designers in a fairy tale world', which started with our sparkling start where we dressed up as Princes and Princesses for the day. During this topic we have been scientists and made houses for the Three Little Pigs to live in and bridges for The Three Billy Goats Gruff to cross. We have also been super writers and have rewritten the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
In maths this half term we have been learning about addition and subtraction and number bonds to 10 and 20. Although this has sometimes been a little bit tricky, we have learnt a new rhyme to help us to solve our number bond problems.
