We have been looking at advertising in our writing. As we know The Great Fire of London started in a bakery - we wanted to make our own! We worked towards advertising our own bakery by thinking of yummy treats that we would like to sell. We used adjectives, expanded noun phrases and rhetorical questions to persuade people to buy our treats!
We also looked at the book "The Day the Crayons Quit!" We thought about where Red crayon might go on his adventures and created a comic book strip.
We then acted out some of these scenes in a role play!
In maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have been learning to count faces, side and vertices. We have sorted shapes by their properties. We have also looked at making patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.
In art we have been looking at L.S Lowery. Did you know he only ever used 5 colours in his paintings? Red, blue, yellow, black and white. If he wanted any other colours he mixed them together using the 5 he already had! We have had a go at creating his famous seascape paintings by colour mixing just like he did, here are the results!
