This week we are continuing to learn about types of travelling for our learning project Tremendous Travel.

The next form of transport we will be learning about is very exciting… Hot Air Balloons!

Up, Up, Up!

Click the link to enjoy this week's story, sing along too!

PSED

This week we would like you to think about having a healthy body.

Think about what makes us healthy. Why do we exercise? Why is it important to exercise?

What happens to your body when you exercise? Does anything change?

Quick experiment: jump up and down as quickly as they can for one minute. What do you notice? Has anything changed?

What is your favourite sport do play and why?

Communication and Language

Imagine you are going on a special adventure. You are going to travel to your destination by hot air balloon. Where would you like to travel to?

What will you pack? Who will travel with you?

Talk to someone in your family about your ideas.

Physical Development

For this activity all you will need is a clear space and a dice.

Reading

Click on the document bellow. Read the short story with your child. Ask the questions and talk about the answers.

Writing

Have a go at making your very own passport. Draw a picture of your face and ask a grown up to help you fill in the missing answers.

Number

Write numbers on the ground with chalk. Ask your child to hit a number with the water balloons.

Shape, Space and Measure

Have a good look at the picture bellow...

What shapes can you see in the picture?

People and Communities

Play a game with your family, 'Balloon Keep Up'. Who can keep the balloon up in the air for the longest ? Can you count how many times you pass the balloon?

The World

Design and make your own balloon basket. Which materials could you use? Paper, cardboard, plastic or sticks?
