What we are learning in Nursery
This half term our topic is 'Helpful Heroes'. Throughout this topic the children get to explore different local heroes and how they help us. We will look at how people in our families are our heroes as well are firefighters, police officers, doctors and vets. We will be visited by local heroes where we get to learn about what they do within their job, how they help people and what special equipment they need to do this. As with all our topics, we continue learning about ourselves and developing our social skills. As part of this topic, we will be looking at rules and why they are important we follow them as well as looking at our school values in more detail. The children will get the opportunity to explore healthy eating, how we look after our teeth and why this is important to help us stay healthy. We will begin exploring the season of winter in more detail and observe the changes that happen as the weather changes.

In Early Years, we use Tapestry, this is a Learning Journal where you will be able to see what your child has been up to at school. We encourage you to contribute to your child's learning journal, we love the opportunity to see what the children have been up to at home and share this with the class. From time to time, we will upload 'Champion Challenges' for your child, these relate to your child's next steps in their learning.
