What we are learning in Nursery
This half term, the Nursery children will be exploring their 'Planet Protectors' topic. Over the next few weeks, they will be thinking about where they live and what makes Lowestoft special. We will learn about different sea creatures, exploring how some animals prefer warm water while others like cold water. Within our Understanding the World lessons, we will investigate hot and cold objects like ice, look at how textures change (such as sand when water is added), and learn how to look after the environment. We will also discover how to care for our planet by going on a local walk to pick up litter. With the weather hopefully heating up, the children will spend plenty of time outside, so we will ensure they understand how to stay safe in the sun and by the sea. To celebrate the end of our topic, we will finish with an exciting week all about Pirates, including a special themed day where the children can dress up!
