Physical Education
At St Margaret’s Primary Academy, we aim to deliver a wide variety of lessons through the P.E curriculum that children from Reception to Year 6 can take part in. All children throughout the school year will experience a range of activities and opportunities that help develop knowledge in key areas, such as health, fitness and wellbeing. We intend to offer a high-quality Physical Education Curriculum that encourages and inspires children to succeed and want to participate in competitive sport, inside and outside of school. As well as developing a love and passion for Physical Education and wanting to remain active and healthy when they leave our school. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities such as after school clubs, lunch time games, tournaments and fixtures with surrounding schools, festivals and special events for all our children.
“My aim as the P.E lead at St Margaret’s Primary Academy is to inspire and encourage the younger generation! My focus is for when children leave our school, is that they leave with a love and passion for Physical education, Physical Activity and School Sport. Children will also leave with the understanding and tools of how they can remain active and healthy as they grow older. During their time at primary school, they are open to a range of opportunities such as tournaments, fixtures, festivals, after school clubs and lunch time games to help develop a love for competition. I also host a range of sporting events throughout the year to continue to inspire the younger generation, sporting events that when I was in primary school, I was never given the opportunity to participate in. I want these events and the opportunities we offer at St Margaret's to stay with these children for the rest of their lives and for this to help shape confident, healthy individuals as they get older”.
