In Spring 1 our topic is 'Helpful Heroes'. We will be looking at the different jobs that the people in our lives do. We will be exploring different job roles that people do and how these help us. We will also be talking about what we would like to be when we grow up and how we can achieve this. We will be having some exciting visitors, sharing what they do in their careers.

The core books we will be looking at our:

We follow the White Rose Maths scheme. Over this half term we will be exploring:

- Recapping on numbers 0-5

- Introducing numbers 6-10

Within this we will be looking at composition, 1 more, 1 less, subitising, odds and evens, doubling and grouping.

Home Learning

We expect children to read a minimum of 3 times a week; this should be logged on boom reader. If you need support with boom reader, please speak to a member of staff.

In Early Years, we use Tapestry, this is a Learning Journal where you will be able to see what your children have been up to at school. We encourage you to contribute to your child's learning journal, we love the opportunity to see what the children have been up to at home and share this with the class. From time to time, we will upload 'Champion Challenges' for your child, these relate to your child's next steps in their learning.
